#2 - "People first, then process, then technology"
"What’s crucial here is making sure that the people on your team understand what the role of the program is in the greater organization and that you help them feel like they're trained and equipped to be successful doing that," an industry expert says. This means training, coaching, critiquing, and mentoring employees to let them know what is expected of them and how to meet those expectations and be successful. Last Call for Section 179 Deductions
Time is running out for all small businesses, healthcare practices and manufacturing firms to save money this year. As you may have heard from your tax consultant, the Section 179 deduction for tax year 2018 has nearly doubled over last year and is now an impressive $1 million. This deduction is good on new and used qualifying equipment, as well as off-the-shelf software. To take the deduction for this tax year, the equipment must be financed or purchased and put into service between January 1, 2018 and the end of the day on December 31, 2018. If you have never taken advantage of this deduction before, here are the basic facts. As outlined on section179.org, Section 179 of the IRS tax code allows businesses to deduct the full purchase price of qualifying equipment and/or software purchased or financed during the tax year. That means that if you buy (or lease) a piece of qualifying equipment, you can deduct the FULL PURCHASE PRICE from your gross income. Note: we are not tax professionals and this is not tax advice. 5G Networks Coming Soon
Have you been hearing of 5G networks? They are the next generation of mobile Internet connectivity and will offer faster speeds and more reliable connections on smartphones and other devices than ever before. They will provide connections that are much faster than current ones, and average download speeds of 1 GB ps might soon be the norm. These next-level type networks are necessary for the dramatic rise in the Internet of Things technology and will provide the infrastructure needed to move huge amounts of data all around our connected world. These networks are in development now and should begin launching in 2019 and become more commonplace in 2020.
Need to Protect your Packages After Delivery?
These days, whether your packages are being delivered to an office building or your front porch, they are not as safe as they used to be. There are however, ways in which you can use technology to protect them. If you are comfortable with someone coming in your house to deliver a package, try Amazon Key. You can also pick up packages at your convenience from an Amazon Locker. Business owners might want to try Hub by Amazon. And here's a new concept on an old idea: BoxLock. It's a box with a Wi-Fi controlled lock that can only be opened for deliveries you approve in the app. A video security camera system such as Nest Cam Outdoor might serve as a theft deterrent. You can also try a video doorbell such as SkyBell HD.
